*sigh*

Ladies (and gents), it's happened again. Yes. Jensen Ackles has been the subject of YET ANOTHER Supernatural fandom wank.

This time? His lawyers sent a C&D to the website People for the Ethical Treatment of Jensen Ackles, or PETJA. Why? Well, because the site was a parody site that made fun of him for a number of things, including him being (supposedly) "fat", "illiterate", etc.

PETJA people are upset. Unfortunately, PETJA people include BNFs. Yeah, you know who I mean. Those really mysteriously popular fandomers who just happen to have a LOT of clout but are really "just like everyone else" only they "write fic a lot".

Thus? Shit hits fan.

SO! Now we have the BNFs saying that Jensen is a jerk with no sense of humour. Brought up as evidence was his refusal to sing during the Comic Con panel.

Yeah. I know.

What an ass, right? How dare he.

Moving on. So Jensen is now a total meanie. And, to top it all off, Jared is an asshole because he talks a lot while on a sugar high.

Sometimes I hate fandom, guys. I'm so glad we have or own little corner of it that seems generally free of whackjobs. I love you all.

Omg, I have had people here (at the HP con) try to talk to me about this. The argument being "back fandom no matter what". I just feel very uncomfortable with that. I get that shit gets said on the internet, but I still feel like it's not exactly appropriate to go insulting people on a website like that. *shrug* Maybe I'm not a good fan or I'm not invested enough in artistic integrity or artistic rights or whatever, but I still don't feel the need to back fandom on this. Eh. Guess I'm a bitch.
