I dunno if having television shows memorized makes me smart or halfway to insanity. *cough* I like to think I'm just like Sam -- a walking encyclopedia of weirdness.
Hahaha I totally cracked up at the "Heathen" remark. <3 Oh Dean. He was such a nerd in that. I half expected Sam to go "And I'm the walking encyclopedia of weirdness?!" every time Dean broke out into a new story. I think it's super adorable that he knows all the lore and pop culture references related to his field. Like in Crossroad Blues where he's all "...wow" face when Sam says he's not familiar with Robert Johnson. And he's all o.O about it. And ROLLS HIS EYES. <3
They are so cute. DUDE. |

You people are doing a good job! I had forgotten heathen! Man, writing Dean's dialogue must be fun! _________________ "Decapitations aren't my idea of a good time, I guess." --Sammy, "Bloodlust" |

Thanks to last night's re-run, here's another: Sparky!! HA! I had forgotten that one. That one's so almost-lame-stupid, I love it! Alas, I don't remember the exact line. But it was when Sam was trying to crack something on a computer and Dean, who could think of nothing to do at the moment, was sitting in front of him bored and making annoying noises. Sam said, "Dude, seriously!" And Dean then decided he could go and try to get more answers from (Karen?) the wife of the murder victim. As he walked off, he said something to the effect that Sam needed to keep working at it, or keep up the good work, something! (*Ahem*, gee, it would be nice if *someone* around here who has watched all episodes over and over could help me out and insert the proper line here. Hmm, who could do that for me?! ) And called him Sparky.
Know what else I love about these names? (If you do, congratulations, you can set up your own psychic hotline!) You can tell Sammy actually likes it when Dean calls him by them! He practically never objects (and when he does, it's mild) or looks truly annoyed. I don't know if the writers intended it, or if Jared decided to make it that way, or if it's just accidental on Jared's part, but it's great. You really get the feeling that he's so used to it; has grown up with Dean doing that. That he knows it's Dean's way of expressing brotherly love. So, it's funny *and* sweet. Cool! _________________ "Decapitations aren't my idea of a good time, I guess." --Sammy, "Bloodlust" |

I looked it up. Line: "Keep going, Sparky." That simple. I just had to complicate it. You know me.
*snicker* Can't wait to see what names he comes up with next season. Hopefully, he's not too distracted/scared/whatever to think them up! If anything, I'd think he'd do it more, in order to help distract himself from The Bargain. It is his way, after all! So, I actually think we may be seeing him in full-on first season Dean mode--and then some--next season! Not ALL the time, of course, but some; a lot, hopefully! Right, I'm jabbering about Dean in the Sam section. Oops! I'm done. _________________ "Decapitations aren't my idea of a good time, I guess." --Sammy, "Bloodlust" |

| Grandma... in The Benders Episode. Sam wants to leave and Dean says, "you really know how to have a good time, don't you grandma." and in the Asylum episode he calls him Haley Joel... |

Grandma! That was hilarious! Good job! Yet another smart-assed name, yet another time Sammy doesn't know how to snark back. I think it would be funny to have at least one episode next season (or in any future season, I don't care) where Dean does the usual smart-assed name calling and Sammy actually snarks right back to him for a change. It'd be fun to see Dean's expression! Or where Sammy does the name calling for a change and Dean's too surprised for a comeback. _________________ "Decapitations aren't my idea of a good time, I guess." --Sammy, "Bloodlust" |
