Well, sometimes, I like Sam more than Dean, he makes less troubles, he is more emotive,.... *shakes head* What am I talking about?? I haven't had a cup of coffee yet today... that's why.
There's one thing I'm really wondering about. Why Sam, haven't started to practise his skills yet? Wouldn't be everything much more easier then?

I wish Sam was my brother! What I love about Sam: He's a people person--he really cares about people, is very protective of them and communicates well with them (unless a hot chick dumps a load of sexy panties on a table in front of him). He's brave and will always risk his own life for another's. He's sensitive and not afraid of talking about his (or anyone else's) feelings (and it's in a "manly" way. Sam always seems a strong person, not wimpy; in fact, I see the not being afraid of emotions thing as a sign of a real man!). He's smart. He's a "walking encyclopedia of weird." I love his catch phrase of "I got ya" when he's rescuing someone. He knows his Latin. The boy can fight (I love his vampire punch-out in "Bloodlust" and his Gordon punch-out in "Hunted" (?)). He knows how to handle Dean. He has high moral standards but isn't preachy about them. He's sweet. He's adorable. He's friendly. I love the way he yells "DEAN!" when he can't find him and/or doesn't know if he's OK. I'd say he's handsome, but that's actually Jared providing that! I love his facial expressions when he's exasperated/annoyed with Dean. He knows how to keep his cool. I like watching his longing to be normal and his recent realization that he's farther away from that than he used to think.
He says things like "Decapitations aren't my idea of a good time, I guess" and "I'm not touching that line with a 10-foot pole."
I'm sure there's more, but I'll shut up for now!

hahaha, yeah Cookie, i agree with ya...i guess that's why i've always been a Sam girl...he's cool with who he is (most of the time ). I think the antiquer bit in Playthings really cemented that. Dean's all freakin' out, and Sam's just like *shrug* whatever, i know i like girls, so i don't care.
and he's always there, no matter what.
his fighting technique is awesome....problem is, he's so huge, its easy for him to go down but man, that gun punch thing he does in Benders, then in Night Shifter, that's just fawesome!!!
but one of the best qualities is his patience... especially against Dean's snark. he doesn't need to have a comeback...he waits...gets right one and JAB!!! Bam!! you've just been served!!!!
wench has just had her Sam fan ramble....now she needs sleep

Yes, I forgot that!Patience! Indeed, T.W., Sammy IS very patient, isn't he? Especially with how annoying Dean can be (not that I can blame Dean most of the time. He's restless, has a lot on his tortured mind and loves (and needs) a good laugh and Sammy's the only one around to pick on. But it's harmless [though, at times, extremely annoying for Sammy] and Sammy knows this)! He's also always patient with the clueless/hysterical/stupid/confused/lost, etc., etc. victims/people (and supernatural beings, here lately!) involved in the supernatural situations, too. Patient, sympathetic (a quality Dean, bless him, often lacks with these folks--which is fun. He cares for them too, would die for them, but hasn't the patience with them that Sammy does) and caring, no matter what trouble/annoyance they cause. I do LOVE that, especially in contrast with Dean's amusing lack of patience and sympathy with them. So sweet!
He tends to try to analyze/process situations from all angles he can, which contrasts with Dean's "Takin' Care of Business" attitude. I love that and I love that BOTH attitudes are useful, depending upon the situation, so it's great that they each have a different one. Sometimes Sammy needs to stop Dean from charging ahead and taking care of that business (as in "Nightshifter," when he nearly killed the innocent woman) and sometimes Dean has step up and take care of business when Sammy is too busy thinking (an example is escaping me at the mo.--a little help?). It's fun to watch!

I'm going to pull a Jared here: I love Sam's intelligence. So many characters on TV are just regular guys or don't care about school, etc. As a student myself, I appreciate guys who put a lot of time, effort and passion into their studies and have a desire to become something. That he was so driven as to get a full-ride, to get into law school, and all the rest is something I totally admire about him. And his ability to be a walking encyclopedia of information makes me drool a little. <3
Plus that super-analytical mind allows him to be the yin to Dean's yang. In Nightshifter, when Dean shrugs and raises the knife to kill Sherry and then Sam says "Wait. What's the advantage here?", I grinned so hard. He's the one who always notices the missing or misplaced pieces to the puzzle they're working on, as far as strategy and information go.
Despite all this, he's at times adorably naive -- like when he says "A kid fingered a clown." and Dean gives him that "omgwtfbbq" look, to which he responds (totally lost, mind you) "What?" Dean's able to slip in an insult, a joke, whathaveyou, and it'll go right over Sam's head. It amuses me to no end.
I also love that he's a total sweetheart. He genuinely cares about people, and tries to help them as much as he can -- even ghosts. He's got a huge heart, and even though it is pretty much used up by his family and Jessica, he still manages to at least sympathize with so many people.
The love he has for Dean, and his ability to pretty much slip right back into being Dean's Little Brother even after two years apart, makes me melt. When he said "I'm glad we do [get along]." and looked at Dean all earnest and loving, I wanted to glomp him. He knew Dean was hurting, knew what he needed to hear and he gave it to him -- all because he KNOWS Dean, understands Dean, and loves Dean enough to want to make him happy, or at least alieviate his sadness.
He can be so serious and broody is practically emo. And that great big wrinkle forms in the middle of his forehead. But when Dean teases him, and tries to get him to smile, he's able to relax and give it right back to him, like in Hell House.
He is such the quintessential Little Brother. He reminds me of my little brother in that sometimes he can be MORE than annoying, but that doesn't keep you from loving him. And he always automatically turns to Dean when he's hurt or in trouble or just needs help.

Here Here!Yes, very well said, Sarah!
And isn't it amazing how Sammy manages to be a total sweetheart and sensitive without being a wuss?! That can be a fine line to walk and Jared (and the writers, I suppose!) walks it beautifully! It would've been all too easy to make Sammy come off as wussified! (check the Dictionary--it's coming soon ) But, no! Our Sammy is strong and cool! NICE! Heh heh . . . could it be that the influence of his cool big brother helped keep Sammy from Wussville? Hm . . . could be!

oh, i dunno Cookie....i was just realizing yet another thing that is awesome about both boys...they're both so goddam stubborn! normal Sam wasn't a sissy...yeah, he was scared shitless, but he still came with Dean on the hunt.

Yup! | ThursdayWench wrote: | | oh, i dunno Cookie....i was just realizing yet another thing that is awesome about both boys...they're both so goddam stubborn! normal Sam wasn't a sissy...yeah, he was scared shitless, but he still came with Dean on the hunt. |
Yes they are! I think Dean is more often stubborn but, when Sammy decides to be, he's stubborn as hell! (Like father, like son!)
And, well, remember . . . Dean thought Sammy came off as a "wussy" in his alternate reality! "You were such a wussy!" Maybe Dean, at least, figures (in that slightly I-think-I'm-so-cool way of his) that he had something to do with real Sammy's non-wussiness! (Yes, I make up words with abandon. Get used to it! )

Yeah, that was hilarious. I half expected him to say, "I'm Winchester, Dean Winchester" next!

Haha, I'm sure you're just as expressive Wench. Glad somebody else loves Sam for the same reasons I do! I find a lot of Sam!Girls are really just Jared!Girls, which makes me feel a little miffed for the character. Looks aren't everything, and liking an actor doesn't necessarily mean adoring their character!

amen Sarah!!! (we need a clapping smiley )
i really hate it when people are just like "oh my godddd!!! Jared is such a sexy beast, i just wanna fuck him!!!"
*facepalm* it kills me inside....because Sam is such an awesome character, and it's not all about sex....
haha, really, with Sam's track record right now...i'd rather be friends hahaha...
people don't understand that the best part of our Sammy is what we've all said here...his fawesome body's just an add on

Sarah

No kidding "track record"! If you're sleeping with Sam Winchester, you're either going to end up burning alive and eviscerated on the ceiling above his bed or you've just found out you have an incurable supernatural disease and have been eating people in your sleep.
Personally, I think I'll sleep with Dean.

Sammy Love RefresherJust feeling lots of Sammy love after watching the "Roadkill" rerun Thursday. If someone didn't love Sammy before that episode, how could they not after?! I just can't get over how extremely sympathetic, patient and sweet he was with Molly. And his whole attitude about the situation was healthy and hopeful and I loved it!
We talk about how Sammy looks up to Dean, but it's the other way 'round too! This is one of at least two episodes (Remember Dean finally finding sympathy--thanks to Sammy--for the vampires in "Blood Lust?") where Dean's attitude gets swayed due to observing Sammy's. In the beginning, Dean didn't like or have sympathy for Molly. In his mind, she was nothing but a hazard and a killer. He didn't care about her story or reasons; he just wanted to make her disappear. But, after observing Sammy's attitude and take on the situation, you can tell he was pretty much won over to Sammy's view by the end of the episode. I think Sammy is often Dean's conscience.
I LOVE Sammy!
