Safe Supernatural Desktop Themes?I'd love to deck my computer out Supernatural style, but can't find any themes that seem trustworthy. I don't need any viruses or spyware, shareware, etc. (Uh, unlike those other people who do need it?! ) Do any of you know where I can find some safe stuff? Or safe stuff I can download to put together myself? I'm no good at finding such stuff. Having dial-up doesn't help!

What exactly do you mean? Like a desktop wallpaper, cursors, skins for programs that support it etc? |

YEP!Yep, Husitka! Exactly. I have Windows 98 (yeah, yeah, ancient. I know! So's my computer!)
megaera, you're lucky! I'm terrified to download anything like that. I've gotten viruses in the past. I did d. l. a few Supernatural pictures and I found a site with some Supernatural audio. But I dread having to stitch all that together from scratch. Besides, I don't think I'll be able to get the audio part. I've tried making a theme before, and the audio didn't take. Hey, I'm no programmer, though. I just wing it. And I'm on dial-up (evil, evil dial-up!) so doing searches is a bitch! There's a slight possibility I could get high speed early next year. But I'm not holdin' my breath!

I don't know about desktop THEMES, but my background is (and has been for about...9 months?) that picture of Jared and Jensen sitting in directors' chairs with Jared laughing and Jensen smiling at him and sending Eye Rays of Love at him. <333333333 | ||

Eye rays of love? Ha ha ha! My background at work is a fabulous pic a friend of mine did of the two boys w/four scenes from Supernatural and some promotional pics.
As for themes and audio, all I know how to do (and have done) is save some audio tracks and change different sounds individually to those audio tracks. Now, wouldn't I love to have a little Jensen cursor or something? Hee hee. I'd probably never type again, too busy looking at little tiny cursor Jensen. Yeah, I'm a dork. And he's waaaay too young for me but oh well. If he doesn't realize that, I'm not telling him!!! |

I could try to find some, my Internet is cable, so I can spend no matter how much time on. As for a desktop wallpaper, I could make you some. Or you could have a look here. DLing things isn't dangerous if you have a good antivirus programme. I DL a lot, my bro does too and our programme always catches viruses and threats. So if we DL st and there's a virus, the programme just tells you there's a virus and puts it into the quarantaine. I've got also st planned and there would be the possibility of DL as well.

I got a kick out of the Jensen cursor comment. I can just imagine it: "Holy crap, it's 8 p.m. and I've been on the computer since 8 a.m. and didn't even get anything done?! Damned Jensen cursor!" Now, you KNOW one of my Windows sounds would HAVE to be the "extra cookie" line, right? Hm. Which one? The error sound? YEAH. I think that'd be great! Lol Yeah, I tried doing that before, making customized theme sounds. It looked like everything was done right, right boxes checked, choices applied, etc., but it just wouldn't take! It's probably my old, lame computer. Because, you know, *cough* I'm sure *I* couldn't have done anything wrong!
Wouldn't it be cool to have an official Supernatural desktop theme? Yes. It would. The start-up music, naturally, the kick-ass going-off and DVD intro music. The shut-down music, the music they play at the end of "Blood Lust," as Dean gives his deep thought look standing by the Impala with the sun behind him. Or the music in In My Time Of Dying, the sad, John's-dying music. (Um, it's not the same thing, is it? God, brain fog sucks!) Maximize window: "DEAN!" Minimize: "SAMMY!" Warning message? Umm . . . Bobby's "A war's comin'" line? The Impala's engine would have to be something (the sound for when something's done downloading, maybe?). Anyway, you get the idea! Fun! Anyway, thanks again, ladies! I'll be checking out the stuff!

Yes, Jensen cursor would be a curse.
I think CW sucks at promoting SN. Like really. Like whoa. I'd so buy an official SN soundtrack, books (I know there are already some), stationery (I'm a maniac for pens, notebooks, diaries etc.), SN adventure PC game, SN graphics (desktops, themes etc.)... And yes, that idea of yours sounds so cool.
