I didn't hate her, as you know, but the whole making-our-boys-look-stupid thing was totally irritating. And that's, apparently, why she's getting the ax. I'm happy! 
But what I'm NOT happy about is NO MORE ELLEN! Damn, why did either she demand too much dough or was the show not willing to pay what she deserved? I really liked Ellen. Aside from being a good friend to and a badly-needed mother figure for the guys, she was just a very good, three-dimensional character in her own right. She was definitely not in anyway typical or cookie-cutter. She was tough, smart and brave. Very cool chick who added to the show. I'll miss her. 
What a shame their budget got cut! How could they do that? What, too busy giving all the money to Gossip Girl or some such nonsense? That's really aggrevating. Hopefully, it'll be a sort of blessing, as Eric said, and Season 4 will be the most kick-ass season yet in spite of this setback. Y'all probably already know about all this; I'm usually the last to know any news about our show! But just in case there were any other not-in-the-know souls out there like me, I thought I'd share. |

Ohhhhhh! Yeah, sorry, hon. I mentioned the lack of Bela on the "Episode Discussion" thread, but I didn't cite my sources or go into detail. Whups!
She's also getting the axe because they didn't weave her into a mytharc soon enough or well enough, so she was just dangling there for no reason. Classic "death of the author"/"reader response" issue: it was all there in the writers' heads, but they didn't translate it onto paper/film and so the fans didn't know where they were going with it or why they bothered introducing her at all. As to Ellen, it wasn't about money. It was that they asked her three months in advance if she could commit to filming for one week for one episode. And she couldn't, in the interest of her career, commit to that. Samantha Ferris has expressed how upset and disappointed they all were, but she simply couldn't do that in case a larger, more permanent project came up that either screwed over her availability or which she couldn't take because of that one week commitment. So it's not her fault or the network's. It's just that promising to guest star that far in advance is like...possible career suicide. They tried, but it didn't work out. She's said more than once that she'd LOVE to come back if they could find a way to work it out, though.
Yeah, probably giving it all to Gossip Girl and Reaper. Are we surprised?  No. But yeah, I think they can make it work. They're back to the season 1 budget, so they'll probably return to a "be heard and not seen" sort of monster that we've had before instead of things on a more grand scale. Maybe it'll bring some suspense and uneasiness to the show. I like that idea.

Gossip Girl gets the biggest budget ever because they're filming in NYC and also because their wardrobe costs are massive because of all the designer clothes they're sporting.
Still, I'd say it's worth it - Blair is a fierce bitch. RIP Bela. You were too precious for this show and I hope someday you get your own spinoff. |

It was a brief mention. I was responding to...Jasmin? I don't remember. Alas! I didn't say they were going to kill her, necessarily, just that I doubt she'll get a spin-off because, considering this is Supernatural, she will PROBABLY be killed off. My own beliefs. 
LOL. It is. And she knows that. Her agent didn't like that, though.
Uh oh. Don't let Katrina see this. She's a fan of both. I know, I know. I wonder about her, too. I think she's just got the ability to see good in everything. 
But yes. TOTAL MONEY SUCKER, DAMN THEM. WE HAVE MORE VIEWERS. GIVE US THE MOOLA.
