A Pat on the BackI just want to mention what a great job Jared did on "What is and What Should Never Be." Even though it was a Dean episode (and, of course, he was great!) Sammy managed to shine. He was especially good in the following scenes: Getting into the Impala (my favorite scene in the ep. It made my heart feel weird); being freaked out by the sudden realization that the supernatural is real; waking Dean up in the djin's lair; and, especially, all of the end scene. He's been Deanishly moody lately and it was warm and wonderful to watch all of Sammy's old sweetness and concern come back. Jared makes Sammy so huggably sweet, soulful, honorable and cool! He was a real joy this episode!
Um, and he looked especially good too! Not sure why! But, wow! It's the best I recall ever seeing him look!

Agreed! And the conversation between the brothers about why they don't get along. Jared's expressions throughout that entire scene were awesome. And his intonations and even his body language...all spot on.
And I loved loved LOVED the way he said "Well I'm glad we do" and then just held Dean's gaze with like...rays of love radiating from his eyeballs. <3

i loved Jared in the epi...especially since he said it was tough playing Sam without all the past 40 episodes....
my favorite line will always be: Why are you calling me a bitch? *hikes eyebrow*

Yes, the bitch line was awesome! (Got the biggest laugh outta me, I think.) But I think I liked "Because you're still my brother" and "Well, I'm glad we are" even better! And how could we forget "It's not fair and it hurts like hell but it's worth it!" (I hope I got that right!). *gulp*

i know!!! i was like AAAWWW...man, between that and the mom hug...the episode was one big AAWW moment....'cept for the whole djinn....who was rather more of owwwch *cringe* ahahha

Yeah, the whole epi was an AWW moment...except for Jared's head hitting the stairs like 3 times..I seriously cringed at that one.

Ya know what?I don't have the episode recorded so I just saw it once but, even though this was a Dean episode and he was terrific and had some great lines (the graveyard conversation was great, for instance! There it is, our first major, all-out cry fest [as in tears streaming down the face] from Dean. 'Bout time!) it occurs to me that Sammy actually ended up, *overall* with the best lines! At least, his are the ones that stand out the most for me. And that is extra cool! See what the writers did? They made a Dean episode but made damn sure Sammy stood out too! Clever!

Agreed. It was an awesome epi for both Sam and Dean I thought.
I loved Sam's expression after he got off the phone with Dean at the beginning. Such a cute smirk.
I thought he looked especially fine too.

Yeah, he did! I still don't know why! What did Jared do?! Go on some 40-day-fasting, Buddhist retreat thingy on a mountain top?! Or IS IT JUST THE HAIR?! Or perhaps spending all that time around Jensen caused some of his hotness to rub off on him (Not that he needed it! But he just looks *extra* good lately, and I know Jensen has it to spare)! *shrug* I guess I'll never know!
