And now back to your regular program....
We can use this thread for latest ep. discussions from now on or not. I just wanted to post my thoughts on "Hollywood Babylon." I posted this on the CW, where, like, 98% of the posts about the ep. are positive. I assume there are a lot of teens and early-20-somethings there. I wonder if any other older people, besides me, have a different opinion than those? Or if those who didn't care so much for it are just the weird ones? Quite likely; I won't deny being weird! P.S. I learned today you can't even say "slut" on the CW! But you CAN say "sluttiness," cuz that's not in the dictionary, I guess! Now the post:
As usual, I'm one of the odd ones out. *waves to the 2 or 3 others* Hi! I just did not care for this one. It's the worst one since "Bugs." I enjoyed it, because it's Supernatural. And it did have some nice humor and inside stuff. I think I laughed most at the piece of meat hanging out of Dean's mouth (Jensen, you're a brave soul. I love how you just go for it!) and Sammy giving him a disgusted look. Also had a nice laugh at the typical-horror-movie beginning--so funny! And I thought Jared did a nice job of still seeming in a funk after what happened with Madison; I don't think the boy cracked a smile the entire time. It was cool seeing Don Stark and that Office Space dude. But, overall, it just didn't work. I loved "Tall Tales." Even though it was packed with goofy humor, it still felt like a Supernatural episode. This one didn't. It was more like "Supernatural On Vacation" or something. Dean was just too goofy at times. And that trailer-rockin' ending? Just sooo cheesy. I'm getting a little tired of Dean being a slut. I don't generally mined the ladies' man thing; it can be fun. But it's getting to the point of just sluttiness. And so many loved it! Honestly, would you date a guy like that? Wonderful as he is otherwise, I'd be afraid of catching something! I love Dean to pieces, so this is annoying. (And no, it's not some jealous fangirl stuff. As some may know, I liked him with Cassie and liked his interactions with some others.)
And why did the guys just stand there when the ghosts started attacking that guy? They didn't even try to help him! Dean even had his gun! He might have been out of rounds or something, but he could've at least said so! They just stood there! Very un-Winchester like, just like when they gave up on Madison so soon. And, come on, someone willing to kill--multiple people, at that!--over a movie? Like messing up someone's work is equal to murder? Give me a break! People in that business know good and well that that happens all the time. They wouldn't get into it if they couldn't handle it. I guess we were supposed to believe that he was really just that mental. But it just didn't work for me. This episode was just off.
I definitely love Supernatural humor in general and, again, loved "Tall Tales," but if they are planning anymore episodes like "Hollywood Babylon," I hope they unplan them.

Supernatural is back! I really enjoyed last night's episode! Back to true Supernatural form. I loved the Deacon (that actor was good!) twist, didn't see it coming at all (though I admit I was trying to cook a late supper while watching part of the show, so I probably missed a few things!). Dean was a total treat and a pure joy from start to finish. ("I think I'm adorable." Oh my God, best line in the show. Dean, I *know* you are!) (Come to think of it, I loved Dean in jail in "The Usual Suspects" too! Dean incarcerated=fun! Sam was fun to watch in that one, too.) I loved every second he was on film. Not that Sam wasn't enjoyable, but Dean just really stood out in this one. I love watching him fight. I just do. Is that wrong? (I like watching both of them fight, for that matter.) This ep. had a nice, dark feel/look (like a SN ep. should). And just the whole getting into prison and back out thing was a lot of fun. They didn't disappoint me. It wasn't stupid (as I'd feared), it was clever and, though unlikely, believable enough. It was a tad unbelievable that the lawyer lied to Henrickson (sp?) and even more so that he didn't check out the info. himself, instead of just taking her word. He seems like too smart a cookie for that. But I forgive these things because the overall episode was so good. I couldn't believe it was already over when it ended; that's always a good sign.
Next week's episode looks to be excellent. I can hardly wait! (But shouldn't they have aged Mary a bit? She looked the same! POSSIBLE SPOILER: But then I guess since it is a "warped reality" thing, that's fine!) _________________ "Decapitations aren't my idea of a good time, I guess." --Sammy, "Bloodlust" |

I really enjoyed last night's episode. Although I have to admit to being disappointed that they didn't fit the basketball-playing scene in. And oh MAN were the jumpsuits awful. Accented their arms really well, though...
This is one of my favourite ghosts looks-wise. The eyes were awesome! When she popped up in that little foodslot in solitary, I was totally psyched. Really well done for the make-up and graphics crews.
The adorable thing was totally adorable, yes. I have rewatched that one scene a million times already. *squeezes Dean* His expressions were, as usual, perfect and hilarious. I especially loved how he went from serious "Let it go" to smug and happy "See? Instant respect!" <3
I'd have liked to see more of them dealing with other people in their cells and stuff like that, but it's only an hour long and such so I'm not really too annoyed. Gotta fit in what you can and all.
It's a little doubtful that Henrickson wouldn't find out himself, but that could've taken too long and he needed to get on their trail three minutes ago. And I'm not all that surprised that she lied. Yes, she's putting her job on the line, but Henrickson was an asshole to her ("The grown ups are trying to work.") and she believed they were innocent. So. Not TOO unbelievable.
Loved the "We're screwed in Yemen." "Ooo not sure I'm ready to go that deep." thing. *amused* |

Hehe totally agree with you, they were awful but the lack of sleeves totally made up for it
Me, I loved it. Dean was on fire, and the one-liners made me laugh and giggle. Henriksen/son was foiled again and that tickles my fancy, why is it that I hate all the guys that are after the boys Gordon, now Henricksen/son, they need to learn and research our boys, just because they do one thing thats bad, doesnt mean they dodnt do it for a reason *shakes head*
Anyway, I loved the fact that Sam was uncomfortable but Dean fit in so well. What does that say about the boy?......... |

I just realized (yeah, I can be slow, but I tend to get there eventually! ) why it is, actually, pretty believable after all that Henrickson (sp?) didn't double check their lawyer's info. 1. His big ego. 2. He underestimated Little Miss Lady Lawyer. You're right, Sarah, I'd forgotten about his condescending attitude towards her. Don't know if it's purely ego, or if he may be a bit of a sexist too. But, remembering that, it does make it more believable that he didn't check her info.; it probably didn't occur to him that she'd DARE disobey him! Ha! Yeah, that makes his facial expression in the end even funnier. I'd just been concentrating on his good detective work and intense focus on the guys.
This ego of his may be the Achilles heel that enables our guys to escape his grasp. _________________ "Decapitations aren't my idea of a good time, I guess." --Sammy, "Bloodlust" |

I bet he'd love that he was compared to Achilles too. *laughs*
But...and I don't mean this as like my own personal opinion or an accusation against the writing/production crews...have you noticed that the two guys on their trails, sort of crazy, and disliked intensely by the fans...are black men? |

You read my mind! I was thinking that during or right after the last episode! Wasn't going to mention it, though! Surely it's just coincidence? Either that or at least one of the writers maybe sees black guys as badass or something?! Also interesting is that neither guy is actually a "bad" guy. Both of them actually think they're doing "good" by hunting down our guys. But, of course, we can't help but hate them since *we* know they're actually (accidentally) being bad by trying to be good. (Well, that was a mouthful!)
Here's something I may get cyber-smacked for: I actually have hope for Gordon. I think it'd be a cool twist for him to eventually come around and have his eyes opened up to those shades of gray he can't see. I'm sympathetic towards him because I know why he is like he is. Super freaky traumatic loss of a dear loved one at a young age (like our guys) with, apparently, no support system (unlike our guys, hence the difference in behavior and attitude). Seems like he does have the right general idea (ridding the world of evil things) but is (and pretty understandably) misguided. Having said that, I think everyone loves to hate him so much that the writers will probably never go that way with it. But I, for one, would think it a cool twist. Gordon is a hell of a hunter; imagine him on their side? (Don't worry; I'm not suggesting they become the 3 Musketeers. Just that he's like John; shows up now and then.) It'd be easy enough for them to write in an even better nemesis for our guys. (Actually, they pretty much already have, haven't they?) It would be a nice shocker to suddenly see Gordon pop up in an ep. and save the guys' asses; particularly Sammy's. Now, come on, wouldn't that be a fun shock? Maybe Gordon could have done a lot of thinking while locked up (I should think his escapades with the guys would give him plenty to think about) and ends up saving the guys from the *other* black nemesis. Fun! But not likely to actually happen, I guess. For, you see, I think a lot of fans are much like Gordon. . . can't see those shades of gray. _________________ "Decapitations aren't my idea of a good time, I guess." --Sammy, "Bloodlust" |

| You're totally right. And the thing is, as much as I was like "OH YES." when they slipped out from under Henrickson's nose, I felt kind of bad for the guy. He's just doing his job, trying to rid the world of two guys he sees as sicko serial killers. And Gordon honestly thinks Sam is evil, that Lenore couldn't change, that his sister was just a monster. It's not like they're bad people. They're just people who get a thought in their head, have it backed up by countless other people, and refuse to see the other side. They're righteous! Or so they think. |
