I watched "Salvation" the other day (that is the one where Meg and the other demon met John to get the gun, right?!) and something bothered me:
John said it wasn't even possible for him to get there on time at all. And yet, he ended up having time to yak to the boys and tell them goodbye (in effect), then to get there ahead of the demons, scope the place out, and rig his little holy water weapon. Umm. . . what?! How?! Where did all that time come from? If I missed an explanation, please share! (I can also placate myself a bit there by telling myself John was just lying about not having time. I suck at directions and time it takes to travel. From where was he traveling to Lincoln from again?) I don't want to criticize falsely! But that just annoyed me! Also, in this ep., why would the holy water sizzle the demon's shoes? Did him wearing them make them unholy too? And why would he have cried out in pain cuz his shoes were sizzling?! They didn't melt off to his feet, that I could tell. I can also deal with that, telling myself he was so afraid of the water he wasn't willing to risk it touching anything on him. Or maybe some water leaked in. But still. I didn't care for that.
Also, in "Dead Man's Blood," when Dean returns to the barn to free the caged people, he said something to the effect of "Told ya I'd be back." Uh, oh yeah?! When?! That's not a big deal, of course. I'm OK with just assuming he said it and it just wasn't shown. But it'd be better to have shown it. Or else just not have him say that line at all.
Writers need to remember that it's little details like that that can make a show seem more realistic and better. Help draw people deeper in and get more involved. Feel more. (I think I've already said this somewhere else!) I just hope they learn to pay more attention to these niggling details! They don't necessarily make or break the show. But they can make a difference!
Feel free to give me any explanations for these things I might have missed; I'd appreciate it!

John was probably lying about it actually let us also not forget that he was once a mechanic and that his truck is in all likelihood souped up and supercharged. So getting there on time probably wouldnt be to much of an issue.
Umm the thing about the holy water you have to keep in mind that it wasnt the body that was possessed reacting it was the Demon itself reacting to it. So in essence look at it like the body being completly engulfed by the demon not just a black mass hiding inside the body.
As far as the scene in Dead Mans Blood he probably did but it was probably cut for time. Nothing really big just an oversight i dont know id have to watch the episode over again to be sure, either way it is something you could see him telling them.
